What is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®)?
A Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) is a REALTOR® who has received specialized training to assist clients aged 50 and over in housing transitions. The SRES® designation is awarded by the National Association of REALTORS® and focuses on the unique needs of mature buyers and sellers — whether that’s downsizing, rightsizing, relocating closer to family, or transitioning into senior living.
SRES® DESIGNEES ARE EQUIPPED TO:
Navigate the financial and emotional complexities involved in later-life moves.
Provide guidance on issues like retirement income, capital gains, reverse mortgages, and estate planning considerations.
Coordinate a network of professionals including elder law attorneys, estate planners, movers, and senior housing advisors.
Offer a patient, no-pressure approach that respects a client’s life experience and timeline
There are only 16,000 Senior Real Estate Specialists, making it a highly select designation. Everyone who buys or sells property has their own unique situation and story.
